Accessibility on the DPV website

DPV is committed to providing accessible information. We continually review our site to make information accessible to the widest possible audience.

We aim to meet WCAG version 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) Conformance Level “AA”, which means that all Priority 2 checkpoints will be met. Look at Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 for the full list of checkpoints. A short list of things we aim to achieve is below.

Alt-text attributes

A brief alt-text attribute accompanies all images on this site. It identifies the image or its function. Images used for layout purposes only, or purely as decoration, have an empty alt attribute.

Hyperlinks

All text hyperlinks are written so that they make sense when read out of context. We don’t use hyperlinks such as “click here”.

Sufficient Contrast

Text across the site has a sufficient colour contrast with the background it is written on to maximise legibility.

Text Resizing

Fonts are of a relative size to allow the font size to increase depending on the user’s preference. A manual font size button is located in the header of the site to allow a user to increase or decrease the font size.

Tap Targets

Where a user has to tap on something to perform an action, such as a button or link, they are made large enough to use.
